Here’s a chance to see more of McGill’s rare books and special collections, plus visit the storied Word Bookstore. For the bibliophile visiting Montreal The Word Bookstore is an essential stop. This iconic small space on Milton St., filled with thousands of carefully curated second-hand books, will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. The visit will also include a rare chance to browse through hundreds of collectible books at the owner’s residence around the corner from The Word on Aylmer St. The day ends at BENELUX, a wonderful European-style brew pub with a staggeringly good variety of delicious beers!

10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Rare Books and Special Collections, McGill University (free)
12:00 pm- 1:30 pm: Lunch (TBD)
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm (or so): The Word Bookstore and visit to the owner’s residence; We will meet at the iconic bookstore, 469 Milton Street, Montreal, QC. H2X 1W3 (free)
3:30 pm– 5:00 pm: BENELUX Brasserie Artisanale – 245 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H2X 1X8
