Draft programs now available for the 2018 BSC-SbC annual conference

The draft programme of the annual conference of the Bibliographical Society of Canada, “The Book at the Crossroads of Diversities” is now available. https://www.bsc-sbc.ca/en/conference/2018-annual-meeting-of-the-bibliographical-society-of-canada/ Participants will explore the many facets of the book that have made it such an enduring conveyor of the diversities upon which Canadian culture has been built.

Highlights include:

  • Panel on traditional bibliographical practices and the provision of “meaningful” access in an online environment
  • New research by bibliographers and book historians from all regions of Canada
  • 2018 BSC Emerging Scholar Prize winner, Laura Gerlitz, will present her award winning paper: How to sell a Harlequin: Bringing the Digital Humanities into Readers’ Advisory
  • Keynote address co-sponsored by CASBC-ACEHL by Dr. Patricia Demers of the Department of English, University of Alberta
